Men Kangzhi

Hello, my name is Men Kangzhi. In Chinese, the surname is at the front, so Men is my surname, which is an extremely rare surname. Because of its rarity, I've questioned my ethnic identity, whether I am a Han or a descendant of an extinct ethnic minority that has been incorporated into Han in the course of history. It should come from the North, I believe.

 

The quality I most admire in myself is that I can experience what the Romantics called Sublime -- I can be soothed by nature, but also terrified, moved, overwhelmed, interpellated and awed. I treasure it, as the coexistence of rationality and sensitivity is precious. I am a person cozy inside and can thus more easily cope with stress and enjoy most things around me. Happiness and joy is what I value the most.
